In Bergheim, when there is plenty of snow on the ground, you have a wonderful opportunity for cross-country skiing on the Voggenberg (about 5 to 7 km in length).
Close to Bergheim (within about a 15 to 30-minute drive), you will find a number of very rewarding cross-country destinations:
- Thalgauberg - via the autobahn in the direction of Vienna - take the Thalgau exit and immediately make a left at the sign for "Thalgauberg" - from here it is only about 5 minutes more to the ski trail (right next to which is also a small ski lift)
- Faistenau - via the autobahn in the direction of Vienna, taking the Thalgau exit - continue to Hof and, at the end of town, make a right towards Faistenau - the trail begins in the town center of Faistenau
- Gaisberg - take the road in the direction of St. Gilgen, turning right to the Gaisberg - about 5 km towards the Gaisbergspitze, make a right to Gasthof Mitteregg.
