Seewaldsee (1074 m) Trattberg
Starting Point: Hallein autobahn exit, in Vigaun make a left towards St. Koloman. 1 km beyond St. Koloman, turn left on a narrow, paved forest road and continue 3 km to the trail fork, where you will keep to the right – 3.5 km to the car park
Seewaldsee Trail Description: approx. 1 km to the lake. Circle the lake amid beautiful countryside, 2 km. Refreshments available at the Seewaldseehütte.
Variant: Hike up to the Trattberg (Enzianhütte) approx. 2 hours. Trattberg alternative: keep left at the trail fork in the woods, scenic toll road (6km) at about 1400m above sea level, providing access to a splendid hill-country area which serves as the starting point for many a beautiful hike.

Schafbachalm
Starting Point: signs for the town of Tiefbrunnau (old garage with a big sign “Schafbachalm”) – you will come to the car parks after about 500m.
Trail Description: from Tiefbrunnau via the Schafbergalmstrasse (walk time: 1 hour) from Tiefbrunnau via the Märchenwanderweg (walk time: 1 hour) from the town of Hintersee via Schöberlboden or Hochzagel (walk time: 1 hour), cable lift from St. Gilgen up to the Zwölferhorn (in operation May to the end of October) and over the Pillsteinalm (walk time: 2 hr.) In summer, guests can also reach the Schafbachalm by car, where parking is available.

Untersberg
Starting Point: Salzburg – Glanegg/Grödig (465 m)
Trail Description: Strenuous hike up countless steps. Salzburg’s own mountain, which is also served by a cable lift, affords overwhelming views of Salzburg City, the Tennengebirge mountains and even of the Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria. Leaving from Glanegg, you can choose from 2 variants, one via the Dopplersteig, the other via the Reitsteig. The Dopplersteig is the more difficult option, demanding sure-footedness and no dizziness issues. But a degree of physical condition is also necessary for the Reitsteig.

Faistenauer Schafberg (1559 m) Loibersbacher Höhe (1456 m)
Starting Point: Tiefbrunnau, Döllerer Wald car park (930 m)
Trail Description: Gently climbing forestry road to the Lanzenalm, then a forest path to the summit of the Faistenauer Schafberg, or a meadow path to the summit of the Loibersbacher Höhe. Splendid panoramic views from atop the summit, including lakes Fuschlsee, Irrsee and a small segment of the Mondsee, as well as such peaks as the Filbling, Schafberg, Schober, Schmittenstein, Regenspitz, Gruberhorn and countless others.
Time: out/back to the Lanzenalm (1380 m) 1hr. 15 min. / 45 min.

Gaisberg
Starting point: Hotel Zistelalm Trail Description: Salzburg’s most popular peak is a great place for a relaxing family walk. The trail begins at the Hotel Zistelalm and leads via a relatively wide gravel path around the Gaisberg. If you wish, you can also make a detour to the Nockstein, or up to the summit of the Gaisberg. You will be going partially through forest, but also through open terrain, from which, time and again, you will have beautiful views of the valley below. You will be able to see such peaks as the Schlenken and Schmittenstein. In addition, you will have superb views of the Watzmann and Salzburg City, with the Untersberg standing beyond it.

Osterhorn (1746 m) and Hoher Zinken (1764 m)
Starting Point: Hintersee, car park for the Genneralm (830 m)
Trail Description: Easy hike to the Genneralm, mostly on a gravel road in semi shade, continuing on coarse gravel via the Leitn-Alm, then along a forest and meadow path over the Hoher Zinken to the Osterhorn. Hike up to the Hoher Zinken and the Osterhorn, the peak which gave the Osterhorn Group its name. Once at the top, beautiful view across the Osterhorn Group, as well as of the Dachstein Massif, the Bischofsmütze and Lake Wolfgangsee.

Hochstaufen
Starting Point: car park at the Padinger Alm (north of Bad Reichenhall)
Trail Description: Ascent via the east ridge – “Steinerne Jäger”: Through forested terrain and a series of switchbacks, you will come to a largish high pasture. At the tree line (elev. about 1250 m), you will make a left into rocky terrain, passing as you go the “Steinerne Jäger”. Descent via the Bartlmahd (approx. 3 hours, easy): From the Reichenhaller Haus, the marked trail continues along the ridgeline between Hochstaufen and Hinterstaufen. In the Bartlmahd, the trail continues for a few metres uphill, then leads you to the Zwiesel and the Hinterstaufen. The trail first runs through rocky, though easily walkable countryside, then later through mixed forest.
Time: 6 hr., only for experienced hikers

Schober (1329 m) Frauenkopf (1303 m)
Starting Point: about half way between Thalgau and Fuschl, following signs for “Ruine Wartenfels” – car park beneath the Wartenfels ruins (924 m)
Trail Description: Hiking loop up to the Schober and the Frauenkopf, beautiful views from both peaks across numerous lakes (e.g. Fuschlsee, Wolfgangsee, Mondsee, Wallersee) and the hill country/mountains of the Salzkammergut (e.g. Drachenwand, Filbling, Schafberg, Zwölferhorn). Both peaks can be hiked separately.
Time: out/back to Wartenfels ruins about 10-15 min. / 10 min.
