Sights in the Old City

One of many possible routes:
From the village square in Bergheim, ride along the banks of the Salzach to Mozart Square. Passing the Residenz, cathedral square, St. Peter's, the Festspielhaus and Mönchsberg funicular, you will come to the quay. At the Müllner Steg, cross the Salzach, contining to the Kurhaus and through the Kurgarten grounds.
Now on the Linzer Gasse, ride to St. Sebastian's Cemetery, then continue to Dreifaltigkeitsgasse. Finally, and no matter what the season, enjoy beautiful Mirabell Gardens and Schloss Mirabell, today the seat of the mayor of Salzburg. Now back on the River Salzach, it will be time to return to Bergheim.

Hellbrunn and Leopoldskron

From the village square in Bergheim, ride along the River Salzach as far as Mozart Square. From there, tour past the many sights located in the historical quarter of the city. Passing through Neutor gate, you will ride in the direction of Schloss Leopoldskron and the beautiful Leopoldskroner Weiher.
Then you will come to the famous trick fountains and zoo at Hellbrunn. Schloss Hellbrunn was actually a pleasure palace built by Archbishop Markus Sittikus. Finally, you will ride alongside the Salzach again and back to Bergheim.

Salzach Lakes and Klessheim

From the village square in Bergheim, you will ride along the banks of the Salzach to the Salzachsee, a wonderful opportunity for a refreshing dip in summertime. Afterwards, you will continue to ride next to the River Salzach as far as the Saalachspitz. From here, follow the River Saalach to the Saalach-Au, which was declared a natural monument in 1973. Now on the Walserweg, you will come to Schloss Klessheim, a baroque jewel with beautiful grounds. Via Lehen you will pass the exhibition grounds, after which a last ride alongside the Salzach brings you back to Bergheim.

Maria Plain - Kasern - Sam

Via Kemating, you will come to the Plainberg, one of Salzburg's most popular local mountains. You can leave your bike standing at the base of the mountain, then make your way up via the Stations of the Cross path, passing by a crucifixion group and sculptures, finally arriving at Maria Plain Pilgrimage Basilica. Once at the top, you are able to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views out across Salzburg. Your ride now continue via Radeck, Kasern and Sam out to Itzling. From there you will cruise along the banks of the Salzach and back to Bergheim.
